The first thing I am thinking about tonight is the passing of my youth. As we played at the waterpark this weekend, it became very clear...there are people in much better shape than we are...but there are also people in much worse shape!!! We had a great time and spent much time walking from one "land" to the next and back again. After we got settled back in the hotel I noticed that my toe ring was hurting me. That has only happened once...and I was 8 months pregnant and had to take it off!! So I began to investigate and low and behold my toe ring had worn through and now looked like a childhood kid's ring with separating space. My first thought was "oh crap...that is my last "ode" to my youth....now I am just flippin' old!!!" I have worn that toe ring since my college graduation trip in Hawaii when "a so called friend" got a free one since she lost hers in the ocean and they were guaranteed to not fall off....in order to shut her up they gave her a new one and me a free one....WORKED FOR ME...I THINK I GOT MY MONEYS WORTH 14 OR SO YEARS MINUS THOSE FEW PREGNANCY MONTHS!!!! Somehow now I feel naked without it. It was my only little rebellious thing...since I have no tattoos or piercings!! So I guess now it is time to just grow up!!!
My second thought tonight is how much consumers are getting ripped off every time we shop. In the last 2 weeks I have shopped 2 times and both times mistakes have been made. In one case I caught it right then and there and the other time I did not catch in until after the drive 30 minutes or more home. Target did not honor a sales price and an $8 item cost $19....and I bought 2....so I was less than thrilled to have an extra $40 charged!!! Then yesterday at Albertsons, cereal did not come up on sale....but I caught it and she changed the price and even gave me a free box....but then when I got outside and looked closer....my buy one get one item did not come up free.... So....I went back in and got my free item for free....darn it!!! SO I SAY....CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!!!! WE ARE GETTING THE SHORT END OF THE STICK AND LITTLE BY LITTLE THOSE LITTLE $5 MISTAKES ARE ADDING UP...SO THEY ARE NOT CHANGING THE COMPUTER SALES PRICES OR WHATEVER AND IT IS COSTING US!!!! I used to just walk away and say whatever....but NO MORE....GIVE ME LIBERTY AND THE RIGHT PRICE FOR MY DOG-GONE ITEMS OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!!!! ok ok...I know....but I am sick of it!!!
I am now stepping off my soap box to go watch the President get up on his!!! Man I wish he would say something great or at least bash the crap out of some of the boobs running for his job!!!
