We've All Said It....But It Happened to Me Today!!!

Today we went to Downtown Fort Worth for the Rodeo Parade. We found a great spot right on Main Street and we were patiently waiting for the parade to start. Apparently the one bird left in downtown decided the folks needed some preshow entertainment....so he turned himself around and unloaded....YOU GUESSED IT....RIGHT ON ME!!!! I was sitting there...Davis on my lap huddling for warmth...and I felt something hit my back. There were some older kids behind and I thought they hit me with some ice or small toys....Then I saw the droppings on my coat and, as I was told by my fellow parade goers, my face was priceless as reality sunk in...I WAS SHIT ON!!!!! To make a BAD situation worse....my boys had convinced me to leave my purse at home....so there I sit with Shit all over me and nothing....not that I had anything that would help....but at least I could be scrambling through it trying to help myself....Instead I sit there helpless. Rich gave me his bandanna from his back pocket which cleaned off my coat pretty well...then I realize it is running down my HAIR!!!!! At this point all chance of control & NOT MAKING A SCENE is gone and I am freaking out!!!! Apparently I was looking around pretty frantically and I made eye contact with a gal and she mouthed, "do you want some baby wipes?".... I did not walk to her....I think I flew.... Her, her sister, and mom cleaned bird shit out of my hair as best they could, all the while reminding themselves "we have changed baby diapers, we have changed baby diapers". They did a great job, but still left what they lovingly called, "Highlights" because it would not all come out!!! Did I leave out the part about one sister gagging and leaning over the back of the car...??? It apparently was so "Chunky" and disgusting it even took one sister out!!! I did manage to make it through the planned day....but did not waste any time getting to the bathtub when we got home.

After the parade ended, we were walking around downtown. As you can imagine after a parade there was quite a bit of trash left in bad places. One of those places was a sign where we were patiently waiting for our turn to cross the street. A huge gust of wind came up and blew the trash into Rich...the trash was half finished Starbucks....so here I sit wearing Shit and now Rich is wearing Starbucks!!! What a pair we made!!! I am surprised anyone served us lunch. I am happy to report that Davis stayed clean!!!! We decided then and there that today was the day to purchase some lottery tickets. So here I sit holding the winning ticket, because there can not be that much rotten luck in one day (I dare not say bad....because in the big picture it was not that big of deal....just rotten).

On the subject of funny things....there is one other NOW FUNNY story....NOT FUNNY when it happened...but funny now!!! Rich wanted to soak a red/white shirt to set the color before we washed it....so he started the water in the laundry room sink....we were busy trying to get WAY TOO MANY THINGS done before bed...you know where this is going don't you.... The washer was going, the dryer was going, the dishwasher was going, Davis was playing and making noises. Rich somehow got distracted and the water ran for, we think, about 40 mins....I FINALLY heard it and found it....talk about FREAK OUT!!! I thought the washer had exploded....until I saw the water running in the sink....Aren't you glad you were not in our house that night???? It was a pain and put a huge cramp in our night....but in the big picture of things it was just a rotten little event and the only loss was one roll of paper towels!!! It did motivate me to clean out the cabinet under the laundry room sink and reorganize things....Now I know I will not need cleaning supplies for a year!!!

Don't feel bad for us...we will be millionairs tomorrow remember that lucky ticket we just bought...LOL
