Can you say, "I hate American Airlines"?

I swear....American Airlines sucks!!

Mom was due to go to DC today...but you guessed it...AA screwed it up...so at last word they will be 10 plus hours late(if they even get to go...they are there now trying). Then they were notified that the GAYLORD NATIONAL.... just in grand opening mode had cancelled their groups lodging....WHAT? who does that? It is a tour group all paid in full....some sort of lame excuse like we are having a terrible opening and people are getting sick...what? Who is getting sick? Where is the media? When cruises have issues like this the media is all over them....where are the stories? I just sent them a nasty gram...maybe they can at least get something for their troubles!!

Then my friend in Ca was on her way here and you guessed it....she is cancelled too!!! She is hoping to be 12 hours late and get in tomorrow am. Again...I am waiting. What a disaster!! They really do have us by the "short hairs"....its not like a small start up company can get some airplanes and start competing with them...IF ONLY!!!

Then there is the story of the crappy weather we have been having....which leads to the age old question...why do tornadoes and big storms wait until the dead of night to wreck havoc? Right at Davis' bedtime they start up and I throw him in my bed...for a number of reasons....closer to our safe closet (Less space to carry 50 lb sleeping boy if need be), need to keep an eye on storm movement during bedtime stories so nothing sneaks up on us, save me from walking the floors all night checking on him. Did I mention that Rich was high and dry in Houston and I was here peeing my pants....thought not!!!

The first wave blew past us by 8 ish or so....but it was the 3 am one that decided to wipe out all the power for more than an hour and scare me to death!! I would swear lightening struck our back yard...it sounded so close...but everything is magnified at 3 am in the dark with the whole neighborhood black as pitch and you running from window to window alone!!! Nights like this...make me ask the question....why in the hell did we leave Ca.? At least there the earth just shakes a bit...no warning at all. If you have damage at least all your crap just falls right there...it is not blown to freaking Kansas!!! Ok...so we made it through and we are thankfully all safe and sound and now I am off to bed...yes at 8:00!!! I have missed 2 nights of sleep with storms and if my friend makes it...I have more reasons to tie one on in the Stockyard tomorrow night!!!! So I need my rest!!!
