Oh my.....I celebrated a b-day last week!!! Not because I wanted too....because the other option is worse!!! Thursday was not the best of days...not bad...just not exciting. As we get older we know with the thinking part of our brain that it is just another day...but then there is that emotional side that thinks it would be great if the whole day could be special/unique/different/or that everyone would be in on the celebration. Its like the movie 16 Candles....she wanted the breakfast birthday party, black camaro and pink guy and everyone was supposed to remember her special day, except it was overshadowed by her sisters wedding. When you get older the day is just overshadowed by everything else going on in the spincycle of life.
My birthday was great....by the end of the day I had heard from every friend I have and really when it is all said and done that is all that matters!!!! Plus I had an awesome weekend with my mom and aunts shopping and playing and then topped it off with a family birthday party featuring Mom's famous Lasagna!!! That's called delayed gratification and that is just fine with me!!!
